History
SoloLearn is a US Armenian startup founded in 2014 by Yeva Hyusyan and Davit Kocharyan and is based in Pleasanton, California.[4] SoloLearn was awarded the Grand Prize at the FacebookFbStart Apps of the Year Awards.[5] Also, SoloLearn was awarded the Android App Excellence at the Google Play Android App Excellence Awardees.[6]
Funding
On 25 September 2014, Granatus Ventures provided $100k funding for SoloLearn.[7] On 18 October 2016, SoloLearn announced it’s raised a $1.2M seed round to socialize mobile code learning. Valley VC Learn Capital led the round, joining a number of other unnamed private investors who have already backed SoloLearn.[8][9]
Description
SoloLearn teaches programming on all major platforms, the most popular languages being C++web developmentPython, and Java.[3]Each section is divided into lessons that can be completed in a few minutes.The app was released for free. It has more than 9 million active learners across United States, Europe, and India and in many other countries.With the addition of Lesson Factory on the mobile app, users can submit lessons to SoloLearn. In the Q&A discussions enthusiastic programmers can clear their doubts. It also provides you with a certificate which you can put in your LinkedIn Profile and boost your CV.
Availability
SoloLearn apps are available on AndroidiOS, and web.[12] The courses are free.SoloLearn has more than 20M installs, over 1000 lessons and more than 10000 quizzes.[citation needed]
